Brandon Lata Photography

Documentary wedding and family photography across the Lowcountry.

Brandon Lata is one of the most consistently recommended photographers on Hilton Head for both wedding and family work. His approach is documentary — he sets up for light, then steps back and lets moments happen rather than manufacturing poses. His portfolio shows strong golden-hour beach sessions alongside reception work at Sea Pines and Palmetto Bluff venues.

Best for: Couples and families who want genuine moments rather than staged portraits.

Beach portraits and family sessions with a light, airy Lowcountry feel.

Felicia Sisco specializes in relaxed family and lifestyle sessions — the kind where kids are running and parents are laughing, not posed in a row. She works primarily at golden hour on the Sea Pines beachfront and knows the light well. Her turnaround on galleries is fast by HHI standards, typically 2–3 weeks.

Frequently asked questions

When is the best time for beach photos on Hilton Head?+

Golden hour — the hour before sunset — is the sweet spot for beach photography on HHI. The light is warm and directional, shadows are long, and the crowds thin out. Sunrise sessions (6–7 a.m. in summer) also work well and find the beach nearly empty. Avoid midday May–September: harsh overhead light, full beach crowds, and squinting subjects.

How far in advance should I book a photographer for a Hilton Head vacation?+

For summer and peak weeks (Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day), book 2–3 months ahead. Photographers on HHI fill golden-hour slots quickly in June and July. Shoulder season (April–May, September–October) gives you 2–4 weeks of lead time in most cases.

What should we wear for a family beach portrait on Hilton Head?+

Coordinated, not matching. Soft, complementary colors — white, cream, sage, soft blue, natural linen — photograph well against sand and water. Avoid bold patterns, logos, and neon. Bring a backup outfit: kids and beach water are an unpredictable combination.

Do Hilton Head photographers work inside Sea Pines or Palmetto Dunes?+

Yes — most HHI photographers work island-wide including inside gated communities. Note that non-resident photographers entering Sea Pines require a day pass (roughly $10/car). Confirm gate-access arrangements with your photographer at booking.
